Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 25, 2026 (Updated: September 2026)

🔒 Privacy Summary: Passport Photo - ID Photo (Passport Photo Studio) operates 100% locally on your iOS device. We do not require account registration, we do not operate a cloud photo processing server, and your biometric facial imagery never leaves your iPhone or iPad. All computer vision and background separation features execute entirely on-device via Apple's native frameworks with zero third-party AI services.

1. On-Device Biometric & Photo Processing

All image processing — including Apple Vision face landmark detection, person segmentation, background separation, Core Image adjustments, and 300/600 DPI rendering — executes exclusively on your device's CPU, GPU, and Apple Neural Engine.

B-Labs has zero access to your captured photos, cropped portraits, or exported print sheets.

2. Face Data and Biometric Information

In accordance with Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1, Guideline 5.1.2, and Section 3.3.3(C)/(K) of the Apple Developer Program License Agreement, this section provides comprehensive disclosure regarding our handling of face data.

A. What Face Data Does the App Collect?

The app does not collect or harvest personal face data. When you use the camera or import a photo, the app temporarily detects real-time geometric facial coordinates (a 2D bounding rectangle and landmark points such as eye and nose locations) via Apple's native on-device Vision.framework (specifically VNDetectFaceRectanglesRequest and VNDetectFaceLandmarksRequest). The app does not extract biometric facial prints, iris patterns, or any persistent biometric identifiers.

B. Planned Use of Face Data

Detected facial geometric coordinates are used strictly for two real-time, user-facing utility purposes:

Face data is never used for user identification, authentication, advertising, behavioral profiling, or tracking across apps or websites.

C. Storage and Retention Practices

Face data is processed strictly in volatile device memory (RAM) in real time.

D. Sharing with Third Parties and Cloud Services

Face data is never shared with, disclosed to, or transmitted to any third party. The app does not transmit face data or photos to any cloud servers, remote analytics, advertisers, or third-party AI services. Everything runs 100% offline and locally on your iOS device.

3. Third-Party AI Services Disclosure

Passport Photo - ID Photo (Passport Photo Studio) does not use or integrate with any third-party AI services (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini Cloud, Replicate, or other cloud-based AI providers).

All intelligent processing features (such as person segmentation and background styling for custom dimensions) are powered exclusively by Apple's built-in, on-device machine learning APIs (VNGeneratePersonSegmentationRequest and CoreImage) executing locally on the Apple Neural Engine. No user photos, face images, or personal metadata are ever sent to an external AI service.

4. Natural Background Compliance for Official Standards

In accordance with official passport and visa authority requirements (including HM Passport Office, US Department of State, and Schengen visa consulates), the app strictly preserves the natural, unaltered camera background when preparing official passport and visa photos. Digital background modification and creative filters are restricted exclusively to user-defined Custom sizes.

5. Permissions Requested & Usage

6. Data Storage & Persistence

Any custom photo standards you create (such as custom millimeter dimensions, DPI, and background colors) are stored strictly on your device within sandboxed UserDefaults. If you delete the application, all local custom templates are removed permanently.

7. Telemetry & Diagnostics

The app uses Apple StoreKit for secure in-app purchases and Google Firebase Crashlytics strictly for anonymous crash reporting and performance diagnostics. Zero photos, facial data, or personal identifying images are ever collected, logged, or transmitted by diagnostics. All telemetry is strictly anonymous and limited to technical performance data (e.g., app crash stack traces, device model, and OS version).

8. Sharing, Email & AirPrint System Services

When you tap "Share", "Email Sheet", or "AirPrint", the app hands off the generated image to iOS system services (UIActivityViewController, MFMailComposeViewController, and UIPrintInteractionController). At that point, the transmission is governed by Apple's iOS privacy protections and the policies of your chosen recipient or email provider.
